Hello everyone. Can you actually believe that one year has passed since we launched stinkythepig.com? It almost feels as though we clicked a button and blinked our eyes and all of a sudden we are one year ahead and ever so grateful for the opportunity to be writing to you. Many things have happened over the course of one year – some we are super proud of and others that provided invaluable lessons to learn from. So let’s talk about some of the milestones during our journey and reflect upon some of them.

First off the rank was the arrival of our stinkythepig branded t-shirts that featured some of the more popular illustrations of our beloved pig. Although the t-shirts received a lukewarm reception, we promise we will update them in the near future and offer you a more updated and gobbsmackingly awesome range.

Next, and probably our most celebrated, are our stinkythepig plush toys. Even to this day our plump and soft stinkythepig finds new homes. We truly hope that they make you as happy as they make us proud. To be brutally honest, we thought that having our own plush toy was too far fetched to even fathom. But this is a great example of dreams coming true and hard work paying off. We received so many compliments that we donated a few to a charity:water fund raising event. We also have 10 that we will be donating to a children’s hospital for Christmas this year. We can’t wait to write about it when it happens.

We have our HOPE frames as well. I’m going to be a little bias here and say that it still touches my heart each time I look through the magnifying glass and read the side note. It is such a simple concept yet it has a powerful meaning. I still stop and think each time I see the frame I have in my room. Have a read of our post if you have not already done so. That’s all for the physical offerings but we will make sure we let you know when something new is arriving!

We’ve posted stories and articles and writings about this that and the other so that you all could immerse yourself in content that was enjoyable to read. Looking back it is hard to believe we had written so much. We like to think that there is a smidgen of something useful in our posts that help you, even in the slightest, to laugh that little bit louder. We have had over 10, 000 visitors and hope that as we grow, our fans grow too.

We look forward to another year of excitement and more tantalising tales of Stinky. More importantly, we wish you joy and sunshine and roses aplenty. Here’s to another exciting year to come. Take care all!

Be Free! Stinky goes to Asia

Happy new year to all! We apologise for not wishing you one earlier. We felt that our post from last week was important, so we did not want to cloud it with any other messages. But that deed has been done and now we can focus on the brighter side of things.

We went through some of the photos we had of Stinky in his travels and noticed a lovely picture of Stinky next to a picture of a little girl. But it wasn’t until recently that we noticed that there was text in the picture that read ‘Be Free’. So we thought whether there was any better advice you could give, other than to free yourself? Being free could apply to so many things and it is not until we learn to truly be free, that we are able to find the haven of happiness. So what are we so caught up in that we need to be reminded of something so simple? Financial stress, bad habits that are hard to shake, free from being forced to work, emotions and a world where love no longer rules supreme? I’m sure the list could go on forever.

Having said all this, we think that true freedom is when your heart and mind act as one. So set yourself a goal, to put your hearts wishes into action. Whether it is mustering up the courage to the tell girl of the dreams that you love her, to sponsoring a child – go ahead and do it.

Since we are on the topic of following your heart, Stinky is finally going to Asia. First stop Singapore. It is quite amazing that Stinky has probably travelled to more places than we have! We look forward to sharing more of his adventures in Asia when he returns. But we are more than excited to see what he will get up to. If you live abroad, and would like to help Stinky in his travels, send us an email at info@stinkythepig.com and we can try and organise something.

Until next we meet, it is Bon Voyage for now.

stinky angel Stinky the Angel and Devil

Has there ever been a moment in your life where you needed to stop and make a choice. But before the decision is made, you weigh the options, process complex arithmetic and compare the pros with the cons. And once your mind decides what is the most logical and correct course of action, you go and do the total opposite. That’s the way things are and I am sure there is someone out there that can provide reason for our madness.

    Happy Father’s Day

Today is a special day – and it’s not only because the sun is shining and the wind is carrying the sweet scent of spring. It is a day where we need to be thankful for those who have contributed to our lives and grateful for the nurturing guidance we have received.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

To all the fathers out there, the team at stinkythepig wishes that you all have a wonderful and fulfilling day. We know that being a father in itself is a reward however, today is where you are recognised for your contribution toward making families strong and whole.

    A message from Stinky:

Hello everyone! Happy Father’s Day to all the lucky fathers out there!

I wanted to share something a little personal with you all. I grew up not knowing who my father was. And I am sure some of the others in the barn knew what had happened to him but they all chose not to tell me. This was something that I had to learn to accept.

But having visited many places and experienced many things, I have come to realise that a father is someone that teaches you to have discipline and to possess resolve and strength not only when times are good, but also when times are tough. A father is a pillar, where anyone who needs can lean upon. I guess my ‘father’ has been the tough experiences in life that has taught me how to be a better and stronger person.

So to all you lucky children, make sure you show your father how special he is – not just today, but every day. And although a father might not show the same tenderness as a mother might, know that on the inside the amount of love is vast.
